Terminology bitmap fonts don't show ascii lines from ncurses dialogs
Open, NormalPublic

Description

Terminology bitmap fonts don't show ascii lines from ncurses dialogs. This was working a few weeks ago, but since some unknown commit in the past, it doesn't work anymore.
Selected bitmap font is 5x8, when using a ttf font it works (check screenshots).
Execute: dialog --backtitle test --msgbox test 0 0

Looks fixed for me with today's terminology (screenie uses terminus-14).

If issue persists please reopen.

Still happens for me. Do you have any idea what could be wrong with these fonts? Can i test something?

They also work for me.

Please select the font i use: bitmap font 5x8

I did try that one!

Strange, any suggestion what to check on my system? Debian Testing here.

ncurses version?
font issue?
fontconfig issue?
font encoding?
strange locale or $TERM / $SHELL variable?

did a little research on that but i still am completely dumbfounded.

Tested today, ascii art lines are back. Instead the background isn't drawn correctly, also the same in midnight commander. Can someone check that with the above posted dialog command?

Still works like a charm for me. This is weird.

Works fine on my system.
