emixer notification popup on volume change issues
Open, WishlistPublic

Description

three thinks about the notification popups of emixer on volume change.

1.) i always thought, that "notify on volume change" is broken, because i never got a notification. From random I have changed the urgency level to "low" and only then i
get the notification.
for in emixer is the option for notification, i think its not good, that i have to change in "notification settings" the urgency level to see the notification.
What about an "internal urgency level" for thinks like this?

2.) i see two notification popups see: https://www.enlightenment.org/ss/display.php?image=e-598f5ec7f24d55.30031394.png

3.) if the volume is on 100% and i increase the volume, no notification is displayed. imo it would better to display volume level 100% or someting else. same thing on 0% and decrease volume.

three thinks

eine übersetzung im Lothar Matthäus-Stil :P

"things" - not "thinks" wäre einerseits richtig, anderseits ist die Übersetzung von "3 Gedanken" eher "i have got 3 thoughts about".

the problem is that all these definitions come from freedesktop.org standard. as such, the option is not as accurate as it should be - however then the option description would be too long.

2.) i see two notification popups see: https://www.enlightenment.org/ss/display.php?image=e-598f5ec7f24d55.30031394.png

i can't reproduce. on the contrary, the current notification is updated. did you set "ignore replace ID" ? or any other options?

sorry for my bad english.

to 1.)
i understand. but couldn't there be a small infotext like "activate urgency level 'low' in notification settings to see the notification" or something better and smaller in english ;)

to 2.)
i found out, that i have a problem with my soundcard. if i use hdmi output, the popups works fine

to 3.)
what do you think about that?

sorry for my bad english.

no apology needed, just correcting so you are able to learn :-)

no, because then emixer would have to know the current setting of what notify to display. maybe the configuration could give out a warning in this case when the option is clicked @stephenmhouston

hmm you'll have to elaborate on that and if its a bug open a new ticket please

to 3.)

really no thoughts about that, since the option is called "notify on volume change" -> "Benachrichtige bei Veränderung der Lautstärke"
