Maximize/unmaximize window changes it's geometry
Open, HighPublic

Description

Run gvim (on desktop with Enlightenment or on ssh session) with following setting:

columns=100
lines=50

Maximize gvim window vertically by keyboard, then unmaximize one. Check lines number:

:set lines
lines=52

Maximize/unmaximize gvim again -- lines set to 55 (numbers can be others).

For horizontal maximization the columns are changed. For full maximization -- both columns and lines.
Same behavior with emacs.

Found on:
EFL 1.20.7 (or 1.21.0 beta 1)
Enlightenment 0.22.3 (or 0.22.1, or few earlier)

Same PC and virtual machines also were tested on WindowMaker, Fluxbox and KDE Plasma 5 -- work properly.

Sorry for this - I don't usually close an older ticket as a duplicate of a newer one, but as you can see on the newer ticket two bugs got addressed there, and this appears to be one of them.

My bad. :(

Just realizing that the other ticket may have only fixed problems with maximizing and unmaximizing internal windows - so if the bug persists for you after those patches land, please feel free to re-open.

I'm unable to reproduce the problem here.

The issue T7243 includes several commit references. Since I don't use Wayland, I had checked fixes for X.

Patches applied for efl-1.21.0-beta1:

These fixes do not solve the problem.

In efl-1.21.0-beta2 the problem exists too.

Thanks for re-opening this, and sorry I closed it in error.

I think this is an EFL bug, not an enlightenment one, so I've tagged it as such. If anyone thinks otherwise, please correct me. :)
