Vertical and horizontal splits inside tabs instead of spreading across them
Open, WishlistPublic

Thanks for Terminology and for Enlightement. Now I'm using the first as my main drop-down terminal in the Awesome window manager and works pretty well.

There is something that I would like to ask. Maybe is already implemented, but I have not found how to setup this. I would like to have vertical and horizontal splits "inside" a tab, in a similar way to Terminator, instead of spreading across tabs. In that way, tabs functions as a higher hierarchy to organize work, that can be split into several sub-terminals dealing with sub-tasks associated to the same activity, instead of decreasing your terminal real state across several terminals with each new split.

There is any way to make Terminology function like Terminator, as explained above? If not, there is any possibility or plans to implement this in the future?

Thanks again

So far tabs are like that and the fact that tabs are integrated with the underlying terminal makes it not easy to put splits in there.
For example, the background of a terminal goes "into" the tab.

I'd like to add that feature someday but I won't do it soon.

I'm working on tab management and splits at the moment. It should be nice for Terminology 1.7 but I won't add yet support for what you ask.

Thanks. I will be using Tmux inside Terminology while 1.7+ get released. :-)
