Haven't tested it, but according to the thread the heif loader that was merged should also be able to load avif images :)

Not sure how it would look from the lib side, but from the loader side of
things; I suppose it would be as simple as:

Bumping this in request for adding something like imlib_load_image_mem() which would be able to load images from user provided buffer. For example the stb_image library offers a stbi_load_from_memory() function .

Btw, the docs provided on the release tarball (doc/index.html) as well as the live website (https://docs.enlightenment.org/api/imlib2/html) don't have any reference to imlib_load_image_fd(). I assume they're a bit outdated. Shouldn't they be updated on each release?

Don't think that will be needed. I was just being sloppy trying to do things in a hurry and didn't realize that my system was still using v1.7.4 instead of the git version.
Actually I lied :D , I was testing with the wrong build (where we bypass imlib on webp files).
@kwo Tested it out and it seems to be working so far. Thanks a lot!

@kwo I assume you mean imlib_load_image_fd() ? Since imlib_load_image_from_fd() does not seem to exist.

Thank you, that makes things much simpler on our end!
