Note, I'll be away for the next few weeks. Won't be able to follow up on this until I get back. Hopefully there's enough data now to narrow down the issue.
Yep, looks like there's something in the ole .xsession-errors file. It's filled with nine entries that look like this:

OK, going by the above, looks like this is an EFL issue, not an Enlightenment issue. I upgraded both EFL and Enlightenment at the same time, and seems like I mistakenly assumed the window manager was at fault.

Here be the valgrind log.
OK, I'll try a valgrind log next. Meanwhile, here's the latest gdb backtrace and print of the cp var:

Now that I think about it, I probably haven't recompiled my Enlightenment and EFL correctly. I only did a "make clean" before recompiling with the above CFLAGS env.

Thanks zmike. I've patched in your change, and the browser is now behaving much better.

Yep, that's exactly it. Firefox is definitely NOT maximised. I've manually resized it so it overlaps some shelves I have at the bottom corners. When the browser then gets automatically resized, the shelves are no longer obscured by the browser window.

That's true. I do have an .Xmodmap file in my home dir, which would be triggering a call to the xmodmap command.

If it helps, I've noticed something similar on my system. I've just compiled E 0.21.2 and EFL 1.18 tonight. Use a laptop with an Nvidia 670m. Debian Stretch system with Nvidia 352.79 drivers.

To reproduce the issue from a brand new configuration, set ALL edge delays to zero. For some reason, just setting Left/Right edge delays to zero does not trigger the issue.
Should mention that I'm running E20.5.
Yep, same thing happening here. Keyboard events are not forwarded to Terminology with E 0.20.4.

How do you define "primary shelf"?
Would be nice to have a keystroke that brings shelves to the front, even if they're below everything.
If I don't use the "Shrink to content width", the shelf seems to take up the whole side of the screen, and the position configuration loses granularity (selecting a position in the corners or the middle of a side results in the same shelf position).

I think we should improve the Gadget Settings. Sorry, what I meant to say is there should be a Gadget for Settings. So, in conclusion, if we could add something to the Settings for Gadgets, that'd be great. ... That's there already? Awesome job! Fast work!
