E20 alpha was released a few weeks ago, and now, after nearly 100 more patches from 12 different authors, the beta is ready for release.
This release focuses on bug fixes, specifically in relation to window management.
Note: Wayland compositor functionality now requires EFL 1.16.

• New audio mixer infrastructure and gadget
• Many internal widgets replaced with Elementary
• Improved FreeBSD support

Building and Dependencies

If you have an existing EFL or Elementary install, you may wish to delete its header files and libraries before compiling and installing to avoid possible conflicts during compilation. Please compile the dependencies in the following order (click for README):

1. efl
2. elementary
3. emotion_generic_players
4. evas_generic_loaders

Note: E20 depends on EFL v1.15.2 or newer for X11 compositing, and 1.16 for Wayland support.
