Pros & Cons of EMPC

Pros

  • Wayland
  • Not-at-all-robust DBus API
  • Hasn't crashed on me since it crashed during my presentation at the EFL Developer Day last year
    • I'm not counting that other time it crashed because it was Totally Not My Fault
  • Pretty good at displaying images from your computer
    • Also not bad at displaying images that aren't on your computer
  • Color coding
  • Tooltips
  • Uses over 4,000 lines of some scripting layout language that nobody wants to learn
  • Has a module for that window manager I use
  • Probably will work okay when sized big or large
  • Doesn't take up all of your memory
  • Written by the same guy who makes you unable to use your window manager / desktop environment

Cons

  • Not enough threads
  • Doesn't use as much memory as Chromium
  • Isn't a terminal
  • No HTML5
  • Written by the same guy who makes you unable to use your window manager / desktop environment

Build Dependencies

EFL >= 1.12
Elementary >= 1.12
