Support for elogind has been merged into master now. Please test and if everything is ok, then close this ticket

I was hoping to merge the elogind support this week as the branch is completed ... but I've not gotten much feedback from testers :(

there have been a lot of changes between enlightenment 0.20 and 0.22 in calculating window width/height. could you check if this is still an issue with latest enlightenment and efl?

seemingly this has something to do with efreet, which is caching mime lookups?

@MAH69K I have updated the above branch (rebased on master), so it is now available for testing. You need to pass --enable-elogind as an option when building
There is also a Phab task already opened for this: https://phab.enlightenment.org/T7272
@MAH69K hello. Yes, current EFL and Enlightenment from git will not work without systemd. There is no support for ELogind yet ... but i have a branch which adds support for it. The branch is here: https://git.enlightenment.org/core/efl.git/log/?h=devs/devilhorns/elput. I need to rebase it against current git (which I will do today). When it is updated, I will post back here and if you would like to test the branch, please let me know your results.

yes something has to run as root in order bootstrap login.
IIRC, main e.cfg stores mime associations. Likely, the problem is that a generic mime type was set for Geany, causing Everything to be opened by it. Agree what that the interface could be improved.
at the end i had to resolve to remove geany, go back to enlightenments gui Default Applications and press apply once.

I've no idea what changed in the latest release of enlightenment but this is fixed now.
@raster indeed, this is what I've been looking for. Many thanks!

Hello, I've upgraded today (on Ubuntu) to 0.22.2-0xenial0 and it appears my password isn't accepted on the lock screen (even if it works just fine when initially starting E session).
I was wondering if this might be related to this Merge Request?

if the forked auth child process somehow segfaults on exit ... yes - it can happen. there is ifdef code for bsd that uses a separate EXECUTED binary (not fork, but for + exe, or ecore_exe) which should solve the problem if that binary also supported pam. it just requires time to sit down and do this.
Does this still happen?

i suspect it's a gl driver atexit() failing and segving altering the exit code. this is one of those reasons why i think quicklaunch is a dead end as trying to do things like have your display initted (and thus evas engines initted thus gl drivers possibly set up) is going to result in un-fun corner cases.
Any updates here?
Okay, I think I've managed to reproduce this, but it looks a bit different than I was expecting? In this case, using your profile if I have a window focused on the current screen and switch desktops, the window on the other screen will now have focus instead of the window on the current screen. It is not restricted to screen 0, it just switches to the last-focused window regardless of which screen it was on. Is this the issue you are describing?

Sorry about the delay i've uploaded a tarball of my .e directory

I'm unable to reproduce this on E21 or E22 using the settings that you provided. Can you upload a tarball of your ~/.e directory?

i run arch... and it authenticates correctly (wrong password does not auth). ... what is different?
This is only an issue for me with Arch, not Debian. if that helps at all.
@raster - is it possible that we simply miss a 'pam_setcred' before the authenticate ?

This is the full list of settingins in the "Window Focus" advanced settings:
This works fine in my testing and in my daily use. I'll need more info about your focus settings.
