Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th of June, 2017, Valletta, Malta

Registration

To attend, please vote for Yes in this vote below. We need this numbers for planning, so you MUST vote Yes to attend. It doesn't cost anything, so please do so. YOU MUST BE LOGGED IN TO VOTE.

The developer days will be at 24th and 25th of June 2017 in Valletta, Malta.

Location

The meeting venue will be the University of Malta (Valletta Campus). Many thanks to the University for hosting us!

Transportation

Flights go to Malta International Airport (MLA) which is just 8 Km away from Valletta. Transport from and to the airport would be either with the express bus X4 or a taxi.

Malta being an Island you can also arrive by ship, but you are on your own for information on this. :-)

Accommodation

There are several hotels, smaller boutique hotels and other accommodations around Valletta. We will come up with a list here. There isn't much hotel around the university itself, but around Sliema marina there is more option and a ferry run there every 15min. Potential option are :

  • Sliema Marina Hotel
  • Slimiza Suite
  • Hotel Kennedy Nova
  • The Waterfront Hotel

There is also some promotion going on at Fortina Spa Resort and Fortina Hotel that if you manage to get could be one of the best deal in the marina. There is also a few option on AirBnb that are quite cheaper if you are not sponsored by a company (With some possibility to rent an appartment with multiple bed, you might want to contact the mailing list to see if anyone is in the same case and share the cost).

Format

We are having 2 days this year which means we have plenty of time for longer talks or hands on sessions if people are interested. All in all we are very flexible with the program depending on what feedback we get.
We will use the same split as last year and have presentations in the mornings and hacking and discussions in the afternoon.

Call For Participation / VISA Invitation Letters

If you want to propose a talk, a hands on session, a hackathon theme or
something else please send a mail to efl-dev-day-cfp@lists.s-osg.org .
Title and short abstracts would be good as well as the time you expect
it will take. The same address can be used to request a VISA invitation
letter which might be needed for some folks.

For this year, we think we are going to reproduce the same principle as last
year with the morning dedicated to presentation and talk, the afternoon to
small group hacking and discussion session. There is a potential to dedicate
the late afternoon of Saturday for talk targeted to user. We may dedicate
1 or 2 hours total for that just before heading to dinner. So if someone
want to present something for users, that would be a good time.

Please give us plenty of time handling them by submitting your request
early. The deadline for the Call for Participation is May 29 2017.
